Umko visitors ‘master’ ladies competition
It will be the last 'Fifth' competition of this year, so please register your team early and remember only one skip per team please.
IT was a great week for bowls (and rugby) at the club this week.
There were some very good games, with just one monthly competition, and a good turnout at the tabs-in games.

The ladies 2-4-2 competition was held last Wednesday and there were some good games played.
Winners on a score of +19 were the side from Umkomaas of Helen Pieters and Sue Mathias, and they won vouchers for Umdoni Restaurant and Scotties Tea Deck.
Runners-up were Beryl and Saowanee Whitehouse with +7 and the local side took home vouchers for the Shop on Scott.
There were no second session winners (as all teams who had won the first game lost their second!) so vouchers went to the team with the highest points against, and this time it was the local team of Estelle Collier and Eleanor Walsh with –16, and they were awarded vouchers for Scotties Tea Deck.
Congratulations to all who participated and let us see you all again next month and we offer our grateful appreciation to all our sponsors for their considerable support for our club.
Last Thursday and Saturday the introductory rounds of the club drawn pair’s championships were played.
This particular competition attracts much interest and both the ladies and men’s games were fiercely fought over and some spectacular bowls were played.
The semi finals are due to be played next week and the finals are marked for this Saturday (2nd).
The Halfway Toyota Scottburgh Fifth takes place today (30th).
This mixed trips, numbers format competition is a great favourite and much fun, and you need to be present at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.
It will be the last ‘Fifth’ competition of this year, so please register your team early and remember only one skip per team please.
Then we are into November month with the mixed trips this Friday (1st) and then the men’s 2-4-2 on Thursday, November 14 and the mixed 2-4-2 on November 15.
Any visiting bowlers are welcome to come and join in our normal ‘tabs-in’ games, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons or on Sunday morning.
All afternoon games start at 2pm (register by 1.30pm) and morning games start at 9am.
Anyone interested in starting to play bowls, contact Lyn Seymour at 082 8787170 to arrange a coaching session.
Keep taking the grass.
