Swimming gala a splash of fun

The standard of racing was high. Seven records were broken in both the girls and boys categories across various age groups.

Blue Ocean Aquatics swimming club hosted its annual Splash Gala at Creston College recently, with 126 swimmers from all over the province taking part in the event.

The school with the most entries was Kokstad Junior with 29 swimmers and the club with the most entries was Margate Swimming club with nine swimmers taking part.

Tristan Moheethlall broke a record in the boy’s nine-year-old 25m freestyle event.

Coach Mandy Koegelenberg said the gala was enjoyed by all and thanked all the parents, swimmers and volunteers that assisted and made the day possible.

“Thank you to all the sponsors and the BOA club parents,” she said.
