Stableford success tickles Roland’s fancy

THE Flyer is away this week, leaving all the bad weather behind.
Last week’s Saturday compo was called off due to the rugby and last Wednesday we could only muster three fourballs.
Wednesday this week we played an individual Stableford won going away by Roland Tickle, just back from an overseas trip to the UK, on 42 points.

He also picked up the hidden holes, a two-club and took fifty bucks off his playing partners. Altogether a very successful day.
Second was Hans Beuthe, counting out Nick Wattrus into third.

We sold 185 tickets in the Joker draw but it’s still not won!
Only seven cards left, so should be a mammoth draw this Friday.
Tony Power won the meat draw, Gert Grobler the members draw and Coenie, the attendance draw.
Saturday was the monthly mug and alliance.
The A division was a closely fought race between Peter Gilliver and Selva Govender with Selva counting out Peter for first place on 76 gross.
B division gross won by Ian Walker on 82 and nett ‘two-club’ Dave Sirey on 72.
C division won by Hans Beuthe with 41 points, nett Tony Power with 38 points.
The alliance won by Brett Rowe, Russ Freeman, Ian Walker and Nick Wattrus. The meat draw was picked up by the Low Flyer himself.

Eight ladies braved the inclement weather on Saturday to play a betterball stableford.
Winning on 40 points were Pathma Moodley and Janet Beckerley, closely followed by Hayley Gilliver and Debbie du Toit on 38 points.
