Former club captain ‘true gentleman’ Keith dies
An avid golfer and a true gentleman, he served the club for many years, as captain, on various committees, and as the handicapper.
Former Margate Country Club captain Keith Duncalf died last week after a lengthy illness, aged 79.
Members send their condolences to his family and many friends.
Keith was a member at the club for many years.

Due to health reasons Keith stopped playing golf quite some time back, but he visited the club from time to time when he could.
He will be sorely missed.
In regular club news, the Rotary day was a big hit last Saturday.
Although the weather was not great, there was still a good turnout and a big thank you was extended to all those who played, sponsored and organised.
Winners were Richard Whittington and Dave Young on 46 points.
Second place sent to Joe Espach and Mike Jones on 45 points, on countout from Chris Redelinghuys and Dave Young (as ghost).
Mike Lee and Rob Weyer came fourth with 44 points, on a countou from Simon Shusha and Cyprian Xolo.
Sixth place went to Robbie Myburgh and Tony Westoby on 43 points.
First place for the ladies went to Hilary Hendry and Lesley Erasmus on 40 points.
Earlier in the week Connie McArthur, Evelyn Burls and Maureen Pitcher won the Tuesday ladies competition on 72 points, while Lexley Lewis, Beryl Williamson and Lesley Erasmus secured second place on 70 points.
The Club 100 was played in an individual point scoring format and was won by Leon Olivier on 38 points, with Joe Espach in second place on 37 points.
Freddie Boshoff, Keith Pearson and Frank Merrill won the Wobbler’s alliance on 85 points, while Thys Bothma, Ernie Janse and Piet Pretorius ended second on 84 points.
The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Otto Mutschler, Alan Davies and André Henn on 71 points.
The Margate Pro Shop day was played in an individual point scoring format and won by Alan Davies with 39 points.
Second place went Johann Erasmus with 36 points on a countout.
