Rene clinches Curlewis shield

The ladies Curlewis Shield was won on nett 75 by Rene Matthew.

The ladies Curlewis Shield, played at Southbroom Golf Club last Saturday, was won on nett 75 by Rene Matthew.

The individual medal, played at the same time, was won by Eli Bachman on nett 68, on a countout from Shelley Myers.

The men’s captain’s trophy was won by Bob Thomas on nett 69.

Medal winner was Geoff Skelton on nett 67.

Stableford winner was Bob Thomas on 39 points, counting out Grant Richards.

In a tie for third on 38 points were Ken Crawford, Christer Solgevik and Bob Carmichael.

Lorraine Cook and Jeanne Powell won the competition last Wednesday on 44 points, one ahead of Irene Schanda and Shelley Myers.

In the men’s competition, the winners were Roger Hissey and Roy Deakins on 48 points, from Mike Lig and Paul Lawson, who counted out André Steyn and Craig Treherne.

Chicken Run: Chris Miller 17, Christer Solgevik 17, Dries Barkhuizen 16, Graham Sole 16, John Pinnoy 16, Gary Godley 16.
