Selvin prevents cleansweep for Gauteng ace

In the local league on the South Coast, there were some great matches played.

Although there was heavy rain over the weekend, it did not deter the Central Gauteng snooker players from making their trip to Durban to take on KwaZulu-Natal in the East Coast Cup.

The 10 man squad from Gauteng showed their grit, talent and skill by defeating KZN at the Qmasters Centre in Clairwood.

Fakrie Gierdien, Central Gauteng’s number one player received the player of tournament award for winning the most frames.

He dropped just one frame the whole tournament to South Coaster Selvin Moodley, who took that frame by making a 58 break clearance.

Kyle Akaloo, from KZN made the highest break of 85.

The top players from KZN, Kyle Akaloo, Wesley Thaver and Selvin Moodley had the most frames won for their team but the boys from Central clicked together well as a team and fought for every frame, going on to get their much earned victory.
