Off the hook: Tuna provide fishing joy

On fishing boat Monyeni, a wahoo was caught weighing in at 12kgs.

SEVERAL boats were seen in the vicinity of the Rocky Bay area on Sunday, November 17, due to clear skies and sunshine for a change.

The amount of tuna coming out of South Coast waters has been phenomenal of late with many of the fishermen satisfied with their catches.

Popular game fish reeled in recently have included soldierfish, geelbek and dorado.

On fishing boat Monyeni, a wahoo was caught weighing in at 12kgs.

This beautiful fish is considered a prized catch due to its high-quality flesh which some say tastes similar to mackerel. They’re found worldwide in tropical and sub-tropical areas.
