Ian remains at Ugu tennis helm

Two national tournaments were very successfully held in the district last year.

The Ugu Tennis Assocation (UTA) held its annual general meeting last Saturday and president, Ian Ackerman, thanked the outgoing committee members Raj Naganna, Duncan Biggar, Cathy Kirton, Isabeau le Roux, Peter Digby, Julia Christiansen, Frank Hall and Gevaar Nomuku for their hard work and commitment during the past year.

Two national tournaments were very successfully held in the district last year – one for juniors and one for seniors and these will be held again in the coming year.

The incoming committee is: president – Ian Ackerman (re-elected), vice-president – Rolf Gudecast, treasurer – Duncan Biggar (re-elected), secretary – Cathy Kirton (re-elected) and members Frank Hall (match secretary – re-elected), Jean Marx (advertising and media), Venessa Johnson (sponsorships), as well as co-opted member, Comfort Mlambo in charge of PR.

The president extended his thanks to all who were prepared to stand again and welcomed the new members.
