Off the Hook: Bait up for compo

Trophies will be awarded for the largest edible and non-edible catches, and for best female angler.

DESPITE the strong south to north currents flowing this past weekend, there were still plenty of good catches on the mid-South Coast.

Kayak fishermen have reportedly been in luck, returning with some nice-sized tuna and dorado.

There were some tight lines for those who fished off the Rocky Bay pier, and rock and surf fishermen have also noticed a lot of edibles in the area of late.

A fishing competition, part of the Extreme Ridez and Mzansi Promotions Year End Bash, will be held at the Park Rynie beach campsite on Saturday, December 7.

Dillan Hans Steyn with a 6.5kg dorado caught from boat Wotalotigot last Saturday.

This competition is open to all anglers and the cost to enter is R50.
