Off the Hook: Dorado and tuna on the bite

The wet weather last weekend didn't stop the boats from heading out to sea.

DORADO are still on the bite, as are tuna.

The wet weather last weekend didn’t stop the boats from heading out to sea, and nine-year-old Viljee Prinsloo, fishing from boat Curling Blue, landed a massive 25kg tuna.

Shore fishing was also good with shad making an appearance along most of the coastline.

The annual ‘Dads and Lads’ competition took place at Pennington Ski-boat Club recently.

Fisherman Jacques Swart with the impressive 6kg Scotsman, caught from boat Wotalotigot.

More than 16 young anglers took part and almost everyone caught at least one fish.

The weather was great, the launches were tame and overall, everyone had a great weekend.

Thanks are extended to Roger de Billot for organising the event, Pennington Ski-boat Club for hosting it, Nigel Eady for being the weigh master and last but not least, all the dads for giving their children the opportunity to take part.

The biggest fish caught weighed 19.66kgs and was reeled in by Angela Hall.
