Chickens, eggs and a festive time

On the same morning the ladies drawn pairs final was also played.

THE monthly ‘Chicken and Egg’ competition was played on the first Wednesday of December.

This is a tabs-in game which is very popular as everyone tries to win their supper. This month the format was pairs teams.

Ken Smith and Rina Gradidge were the winners of the chickens and Byron Matthias and Kobus Vivier each won a dozen eggs.

The club nominated mixed pairs final took place last Saturday with Edgar Raw and Gay Jutte taking the honour of winning while Byron and Sue Matthias were runners-up.

On the same morning the ladies drawn pairs final was also played.

Gay Jutte And Edgar Raw won the club nominated mixed pairs final at Umkomaas BC last Saturday.

Well done to winners Reetha Pillay and Trish Tweedle while Stephanie Podmore and Jen Naude were the runners-up.

In both games, spectators were treated to some really good bowling and the results were very close.

On Sunday, with the threat of impending rain, our annual ‘Festive Fours’ was held with players entering from clubs far and wide.

Three sessions of 10 ends each were played.

Trish Tweedle and Reetha Pillay won the ladies drawn pairs final at Umkomaas BC.

Winners from Hillary were Kim Hawkins, Lorine Hawkins, Cedric McLaughlin and Sharon McLaughlin.

Runners-up were Trevor Spring, Hilary Holmes, Annetjie Kidd and Clive Holmes.

In third place were Ian and Eunice Stockton, John and Estelle Collier.
