Now it’s time for a short rest and then it’s back on the road, to get stuck into training for two of the highlights on the running calendar – the Two Oceans and Comrades Marathons.

Taking part in the South Coast Striders’ Christmas run are (back, from left) Roelandie du Toit, Andrew Spence, Lenard du Toit, Toni Mundell, Peter Greyson, Daan van Niekerk, Mark Smith and Graeme Milligan, with Lou Schoeman, Ann Naidu, Joe Naidu and Taryn Milligan in front, plus Hayley Milligan on the bike.

The Two Oceans, described as the world’s most beautiful marathon, will take place in Cape Town on Easter Sunday, April 11 and be run over a distance of 56km.

Comrades will be held on Sunday, June 14 and will be a down run, from Pietermaritzburg to Durban, finishing at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
