Hydration key in summer heat

There was a good turnout and everyone had a good time.

A VERY happy new year to all our bowling friends.

The first monthly competition of 2020 took place last Friday, namely the mixed 2-4-2.

Although there was still the ongoing saga of sewerage seeping on to part of the north green, many thanks were extended to our greenkeeping staff for dealing so well with it and bowlers were still able to play.

There was a good turnout and everyone had a good time.

In first place were Johan Buys and Rita Browne with Edgar Raw and Lulu Bingham the runners-up.

The session prize was taken by Eddie Bingham and Elmarie Young.

A big thank you to sponsors, The Terrace Restaurant, Umdoni Park Restaurant and Wimpy.

Last Sunday the club hosted the Nomads and there was a great attendance of 48 bowlers, who played in the blistering heat.

Needless to say they all needed good hydration.

Donations of dry food were collected for Angel Care Project and Four Paws & A Tail.

The next monthly competition will be the mixed trips which will take place this Thursday (16th) and the annual Adam versus Eve which will be played this Saturday (18th) at 2pm, followed by prize-giving .
