Off the Hook: Shad still on the bite

FISHING has been quite productive on the Mid South Coast over the last few weeks.

Shad are still on the bite, especially at Rocky Bay.

Remember that the bag limit for these fish is four a day and the minimum size is 30cm.

It has a big impact on fish stock and populations when anglers ignore bag and size limits.

Also keep in mind that there are closed seasons for certain fish species and that the legal size and bag limit varies in different areas.

Offshore, there have been a few dorado and tuna caught, and in terms of bottom fish some rock cod have been reeled in.
