Bowlers and their wives win all

All three teams winning prizes were husband and wife teams.

THE mixed numbers competition, well organised by Moira Millard, was narrowly won by the AMBC team comprising Gina George, Fred Hutchins and Fires van Vuuren scoring 4+42.

Just one shot behind them was Mally Swanby, Jenny Wadeley and Gay Symons; second session went to John Aldhouse, Mickey Morrison and Loretta Holness on 2+20.

During the competition, Linda Stead showed she is a skip in the making but has got to learn to be a bit more grumpy.

Most skips would utter grievances when one of the team bowls a wrong bias – not Linda – when husband Steve bowled one, out came “Oh bad luck darling.”

Thanks to Peter and Ellie Woolcock who organised the mixed 2-4-2 competition in their usual competent way.

Zelda and Mike Wood were runners-up in the mixed 2-4-2 competition.

Berryl Finlay was in excellent form and carried hubby in both sessions to win first prize.
