Team Wild Coast eyes Egypt

Team Wild Coast from Margate is the only South African team to qualify for the event.

Team Wild Coast from Margate is set to compete in Egypt’s ELFIT CrossFit-sanctioned event from April 9 to 11.

This is the only South African team to qualify for the event where they will be competing against some of the best in the world.

The team is made up of Mitchell Anderson (CrossFit Wild Coast owner), Sean Flanagan, Melissa Eaton and Alyson Scheepers.

In order to receive an invitation to ELFIT, the team had to complete four qualifiers and submit the videos online to be scored.

Only the top 18 received invitations to the event.

Team Wild Coast placed 12th overall after the qualifiers, which consisted of various workouts testing endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.

Sam de Boer and Wesley Caple served as reserves.

Follow CrossFit Wild Coast’s social media pages for updates on their journey to Egypt and to track their progress over the three day event.
