Herald Fishing: Time to ‘tackle’ your equipment

Now is a good time to try out some new fishing knots and reorganise your tackle box.

Lockdown… with a break in fishing, we may as well reflect on the good run we have had.

Remember to adhere to all lockdown regulations put in place. They are for the good of the people.

Since we are at home, anglers have a lot of time to sort out their tackle boxes, make traces and service their reels.

It’s a good time to try new fishing knots. If you have spare reels of line you can change your line.

It’s crayfish season, so try to make your own gear. Remember it must consist of six hooks and must be barbless.

All shark nets have been removed, so once we are out of lockdown non-edible anglers should some good pulls with sharks.
