Leorin set sights on a new role in golf
He is one of the more popular golfers around.
Leorin Pillay is one of the more talented golfers to emerge from Umdoni Park Golf Club in the past decade or so.
Some years ago, after playing for KwaZulu-Natal for a number of years, he managed to secure his card for the Big Easy Tour, but unfortunately was not able to keep it permanently.
He has now turned his attention to the administrative and management side of golf.

At the moment he has regained his amateur status but he hasn’t really made up his mind of whether or not he will play amateur tournaments again.
However, he did admit that playing competitive golf was very much in his blood.
This he can attribute to his father Leo, who recently turned 50, and is playing some of the best golf of his life at the moment.
What are the chances of them playing foursomes together for the Southern KwaZulu-Natal league team in the not too distant future?
It would certainly boost the local team, which occasionally suffers from players being unavailable for selection at various times for whatever reason.
Leo was a stalwart of the Southern KZN in the ’90s, his highlight captaining the team to victory at the KZN Interzone tournament at Prince’s Grant in 1998.
That team comprised Jaco van Zyl, Garth Mulroy and Michael McGill, who all turned pro.
It also comprised Marc Bormann, Jan McDermott, Ben McGill and David Rush.
