Juniors shine at Tweni tennis

Social tennis was enjoyed throughout the afternoon as there were courts available for play right from the start.

Great tennis from junior members Michael Potgieter and Jaden Jesson, has seen them safely through to the next round in the singles of the Umtentweni Tennis Club Championships.

Youthful enthusiasm is certainly an advantage when playing the more experienced senior members.

Congratulations also to the other winners, Gerald Bunge and Ian Ackerman, and good luck to all for the next round!

The order of play for the Championships this Saturday is as follows:

Men’s singles at 12.30pm: Dave van Tichelen vs Michael Potgieter; Raj Naganna vs Foxy Norton/André Mey; Gerald Bunge vs Tisch Roos.

Women’s singles at 12.30pm: Jemma Cox vs Amber Cox.

Men’s doubles at 2.30pm: Gerald Bunge and Daniel Christiansen vs Raj Naganna and André Mey; Michael Potgieter and Foxy Norton vs Colin Barker and Tap Kruger.

Women’s doubles at 2.30pm: Sally Pillay and Natasha Cotterell vs Jemma and Amber Cox.

Saturday duty: September 26 – Jean Marx; October 3 – Sally Pillay.
