Nail-biting doubles duel at Tweni TC

Sally Pillay and Natasha Cotterell are through to the women's doubles final.

In the ongoing championships at Tweni Tennis Club, the “match of the day” was the men’s doubles between Foxy Norton and Michael Potgieter and Colin Barker and Tap Kruger.

In a nail-biting duel, Foxy and Michael emerged the winners with the score being 7/6, 6/7 and in the 10-point tiebreaker, 10/9.

Raj Naganna and André Mey also made it into the next round of the doubles whilst, Tisch Roos, Raj Naganna and David van Tichelen were victorious in their singles matches.

Sally Pillay and Natasha Cotterell are through to the women’s doubles final.

October birthdays start on the 1st for André Mey, followed by Carmen Jesson on the 8th and Sally Pillay on the 10th.

Members wish you all a very happy day and look forward to lots of great tennis time during the ensuing year.

It was good to have visitors, Detlef Bunge, Wayne Hartogh and Calet de Vos playing social tennis. And, much to everyone’s delight, Chantelle Donald ventured back on to the court for a set or two – great to see you back where you belong, Chantelle!
