Members are encouraged to come and watch and support all these players as there will be some exciting tennis on the go.
Blustery conditions made play difficult and unpleasant at Umtentweni Tennis Club last Saturday but a few stalwarts braved the wind and Wayne Hartogh joined members for some tricky sets.
The championships are progressing slowly due to the inclement weather but thanks to those who played their matches during the week to make up for lost time.
Dave van Tichelen is through to the men’s singles final where he awaits the outcome of the match between Ian Ackerman and Tisch Roos.
In the mixed doubles, Dan Dimitriu and Gemma Cox will play Ian Ackerman and Liesl Smith during the week.
The order of play for Saturday is: 1.30pm – women’s singles final between Sally Pillay and Jaden Jesson; Men’s singles semi-final between Tisch Roos and Ian Ackerman; mixed doubles between Dave van Tichelen and Cathy Kirton, Raj Naganna and Natasha Cotterell.
These matches will be followed at 3pm by men’s doubles – Dave van Tichelen/Rob Browne vs Raj Naganna/André Mey and Michael Potgieter/Foxy Norton vs Dan Dimitriu/Ian Ackerman.
The women’s doubles final will also be played at 3pm between Cathy Kirton/Liesl Smith and Sally Pillay/Natasha Cotterell.
