Swiss mix proves perfect

Southbroom Golf Club‘s Mixed Classic was played over two days and won by Andreas Bossard and Eli Bachmann, regular visitors from Switzerland, on 84 points.
They set things up nicely with 40 points on the opening day and finished strongly with 44 points on day two to end up winning by four points.
Runners-up were Graham Volck and Sharon Turnbull-Jackson, with a day two score of 45 points which saw them surge past half the field after an opening 35 points.
They counted out Bob and Allyson Thomas, as well as Bob O’Callaghan and Jill Webster.
In fourth place were John Fox and Irene Schanda on 78 points, counting out Anton and Louise Leal.
The previous Wednesday saw the women play for the Adamson Trophy and the men for the Frank Eyles trophy.
Respective winners were Rita Kinghorn on 37 points and Neill Crossey on 41 points.
Runners-up were Solange Fox on 35 points and Doug Butcher on the same score.
Best score in the Friday Chicken Run was returned by Malcolm Greenland on 21 points, with Jim Cook next on 18 points.
