Margate snooker players on a winning streak
It was a double celebration for the lads from the South coast as they played two teams.
Snooker players from Margate Country Club were once again victorious over rivals Hillary Snooker Club from Durban during a friendly challenge tournament last weekend.
It was a double celebration for the lads from the South coast as they played two teams.
On the Saturday they took on Hillary’s first team and beat them 17 frames to 15.
Eddie Redelinghuys and Flip Fourie won the last two frames of the match to clinch victory.
The next day the second team from Hillary fought back to take the match to a nail-biting finish.
Selvin Moodley made certain of his teams victory, 17 to 15, by winning the last frame.
He also made the highest break of the tournament which was 52.
Flip, who has played social snooker for many years, said he was now enjoying the sport at a competitive level.
They now eagerly await the resumption of national tournaments, expected to be in January next year.
