The Kingfisher Bowling Association held its annual KBA Masters Tournament at Margate Bowling Club last weekend.
The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc at so many levels and with the recent spike in infections in the country bowlers remain grateful to have the opportunity to stage this prestigious event.
After a tough and competitive five rounds of sectional play, the closely contested final between Eddie Fann and Ollie Coetzer and Pam Cole-Cook and Leoni Booth was held on Sunday afternoon.
In the men’s section the gold medal went to Ollie narrowly seeing off Eddie.
Bronze medals went to Ron Weddell and Ferro van Greunen.
In the women’s section the winner was Pam Cole-Cook over Leoni Booth.
Bronze medals went to Gail van Nikkelen-Kuyper and Ellen Cawker.
MARGATE BC
Winners of the Deon van Schalkwyk men’s 2-4-2 were Hans van der Walt and Deon van Schalkwyk.
Runners-up were Ron Vink and Ernie Southward.
Session to Pat McGlynn and Clive Cowan. 50/50 to Tiens Zietsman.
Coming up:
December 11 – Hibiscus Brokers Open Trips at 2pm.
December 12 – Tabs competition at 2pm.
December 13 – Lunch at 12.30pm. R100 per person.
December 16 – Champagne Breakfast at 8am, followed by tabs. R50 per person.

SOUTHBROOM
The Mariners open fours was won by Paul Botes, Neale Cary-Smith, Jill Webster and Rhett Butler.
Runners-up were Annette Payne, Sharon Scheinberg, Herman Scheinberg and Ally Weir.
First session went to John Keppler, Steve Rennie, Kotie Snyman and Andreas van der Linde.
Second session to Cleve Walker, Julie Walker, Elaine Harrison and Paul Michau.
The Southbroom Ladies’ Fours, sponsored by Nashua South Coast, and played last Friday was won by Julie Walker, Hazel Delaney, Jill Webster and Lyn Hawkins. Runners-up were Jeannie West, Lyn Walton, Pauline Isaacs and Shelly Backhouse.
HIBBERDENE
The Dennis Lewis sponsored drawn mixed trips held last Friday was won by Charmaine van der Westhuizen, Dennis Lewis and Louis Gerber.
Runners-up were Hennie van Jaarsveld, Cheryl Knight and Heleen Oosthuizen. Session to Eddie Milne, Miriam Seager and Joey Venter.
Hibberdene Pharmacy nominated mixed trips this Friday (11th) at 2pm.
PSCC
Eddie Fann, Kevin Lancaster, Murray Ross, Brian Rawlins, and Jane Massam represented the club at the 2020 Masters held at Margate Bowling Club.
Congratulations to all who were invited, all bowlers did well, especially ‘legend’ Eddie who has played in 15 Masters, won seven and had three runner-up finishes. Tabs in on Thursdays and Sundays, all visitors are most welcome.
RIVERSIDE
Chicken & Egg Trips played last Tuesday was won by Kobie Stander, Donald Moir and Wally Williams.
Runners-up were Donovan Saunders, Ferro van Greunen and Anthea Bratby.
