Tweni members look forward to seniors’ tourney

Entry is limited to 24 players. Visitors are also welcome to enter provided the number of members is less than 24.

As the Pro-Kennex Ugu National Seniors’ Tournament draws near, the Umtentweni Tennis Club wishes its competing members all the best.

Twenty-four juniors took part in the the Riversmead Junior Tournament organised by Daniel Christiansen last week, while on club day (Saturday) saw five courts were occupied with players sitting off for a rest now and then.

Despite the wind, good sets were enjoyed throughout the afternoon.

The lists for the Christmas Spoon Competition are up on the noticeboard. It will be played next Saturday (19th) from 1.30pm, followed by a bring-and-braai.

Members welcome two new members to the club – Tony van Tichelen and Wendy Smith.

Mary Wood celebrates her birthday on the 14th.

Members are also reminded to bring the promised eats for tea during the seniors’ tournament so that the Tweni flag can be kept flying high.
