Natalie’s career-best not quite enough

More than 60 players joined in the festivities, competing in the annual Ladies Christmas Alliance.
Despite threatening skies and extremely muggy conditions, the excellent scores reflected the superb condition of the course.
Thanks to the generosity of the ladies’ section and other sponsors, everyone in the field received a prize, bursting with seasonal cheer, for their efforts.
Coming in first, with an outstanding score of 98 points, were Kuben Naidoo, Kavesh Seepershad, Patrick Ndlovu and Christopher Pillay.
Although there were some rumbles as the gents picked out their prizes, the score shouldn’t surprise too many given the fourball consisted of current and previous club championship winners.
In second place, on 91 points, were Devlyn Fraser, Natalie Singer, Lesley Fraser, and Norman Mackay.
Their score was helped greatly by Natalie’s solo contribution of 43 points, courtesy of her personal best round of three over 76, which included two eagles: a hole-in-one on the 9th and a chip-in on the 18th.
Counted out to third, also on 91 points, were Nigel Hensen, Marc Bezencon, Ron Clark, and Raj Rampathy.
In fourth place on 90 points were Lesa Vergottini, Linda Toward, Gustav and Catherine Schmidt.
Nearest the pin prizes were scooped by Barrie Taylor (4th and 13th), Natalie Singer (9th) and Harold Horsley (17th)
Club competitions take place every Wednesday and Saturday, and visitors are always welcome.
Two more sponsored days are coming up in the next couple of weeks and space is still available.
The Mixed Stableford format, with first six holes of betterball, second six of combined, and final six holes of multiplication will take place today (16th).
Bruce Sutcliffe will once again host his annual sponsored day on Saturday (19th) which always provides great laughs and prizes.
It’s a Fourball Alliance, and whilst full teams are encouraged, those who are looking for a game can speak to Francois or Charmaine at the Pro Shop, who will endeavour to get you into a team.
