Hans Beuthe collects weekly stipend in style
The course, especially the greens are in tip-top condition

So, I asked if the weather, especially the rain had been captured and was replied to in spades as we had over 100mm at Scottburgh Golf Club this week.
Very welcome, not only to Scotties, but to our neighbouring clubs as well; it certainly broke the drought.
The heat and humidity certainly got the better of most of us on Wednesday as was shown by a small field of players.
But stepping up for their weekly stipend Hans Beuthe and Brian Richards with 39 points didn’t worry too much.
The hidden holes came out to check the conditions and were caught napping by Hans and Mike Eley.
There was no excuses for poor play on Saturday as we teed it up for the Made for More golf day.
The course, especially the greens are in tip-top condition, and a credit to the greenkeeping staff who work tirelessly during the hot and humid conditions.
There was almost a full field and the pub was humming after the game and prizegiving.
Denis Brown enjoys these days and so does Hans Beuthe as their 47 points were good enough to win on a count out over Kevin Ramkisson and Revashen Naidoo.
The two Petes – Gilliver and Morris – scored 46 to edge out Mandy Jones and Lauren Davey also by the count out.
The two Petes’ wives came in next, Hayley and Alex respectively on 45, due mainly to Pete Morris’s long, incredible putt on the 18th.
They counted out Richard Lester and Andrew Sharp.
Nearest the pins went to Brandon Joubert (2nd), Debbie du Toit (5th), L Brummer (10th), S Govindsamy (13th) and Gareth Hampson (17th).
Longest drives were struck by Mitch Hampson (men) and Debbie du Toit (ladies).
The sponsors of which there were plenty were each and every one mentioned at prizegiving and roundly applauded by the players.
The new handicap system kicks in this week with different handicaps for different formats so please check when signing in for play.
Flyer’s Footnote: Half of golf is fun, the other half is putting.
