Personal best for runner Jenny

It was a great success with all runners completing the full distance.

Six runners from Scottburgh Athletic Club ran the full marathon distance of 42.2km from Lords and Legends in Amanzimtoti to Park Rynie and then circled back to Scottburgh Golf Club – all this as a training run.

They were joined by two Amanzimtoti AC members, one who ran the full distance and one who did the half-marathon.

Jenny Parsons has recorded a personal best in terms of distance covered.

The run started in Toti at 4.30am.

Some Scottburgh AC members helped with seconding and prepared water tables at the halfway mark.

The Golf Club, which is also the home of the Athletics Club, welcomed the athletes with bacon and egg rolls after the run.

It was a great success with all runners completing the full distance.

Congratulations to Jenny Parsons as it was her longest run to date.

The other runners were Stephen Thlape, Phindile (surname not known), Gary Smith, Dana Daniels and Janeen Botha.

Runners from Toti were Warren Gibson and Jodine Momberg, who ran the half-marathon.
