Nelzaan and Mandy fly BOA flag in style
Mandy placed third in the 41 to 50 year age group in a 47.3319 minutes.
Blue Ocean Aquatics swimmers Nelzaan Strydom and Mandy Koegelenberg represented the KwaZulu-Natal team at the South African Open Water championships held at Marina Martinique in Jeffrey’s Bay last weekend.
Both swimmers swam in the 3km national event on Saturday, where Nelzaan placed third in the 17 to 18 age group in a time of 41.06.05 minutes.
Mandy placed third in the 41 to 50 year age group in a 47.3319 minutes.
Nelzaan went on to race the 5km on Sunday morning where she swam a 1:12.16 and placed 30th overall and eighth in her age group.
Congratulations on these great results and for bringing home some of the silverware from a national championship.
Good luck to all BOA swimmers competing in the level 1,2 and 3 regionals event taking place this coming weekend.
