Early start for champs at Tweni

Members are reminded that there will be a bring and braai on the day of the finals which are scheduled for the 10 July.

The Umtentweni Tennis Club championships got off to a great start last Saturday with the first round of the men’s singles being completed.

Congratulations to the winners and best of luck to the those in the back draw. A few doubles matches were also played.

The schedule for this week has been emailed to everyone – please note that we are starting at 12:30 this Saturday as the light fades too fast later in the afternoon.

Hopefully, there will be a court or two available for social tennis from about 14:30.

As soon as courts became available for social tennis last week, visitors, Clive and Carine Botha joined in.

Members are reminded that there will be a bring and braai on the day of the finals which are scheduled for the 10 July.

Please put your names on the list for the salads.

This week’s birthdays are the two Gs – Geraldine Lange on the 26th and George van der Merwe on the 30th.

Hope you both have a wonderful day and a year of good health and great tennis to follow.

Saturday duty: June 26 – Jean Marx; July 3 – Rob Browne.
