In the minors, biggest carp was caught by Anrika Badenhorst, 2.95kg.

A festive Youth Day fishing competition was held at BBS Pleasure Dam in Southport.

It was for women and children only, divided into three categories – women, minors and juniors.

A total of 16 women, seven minors and two juniors took part and while not a lot of fish were caught, this was more than made up for in fun.

In the end Nadine Nichols caught the biggest carp, a fish of 2.215kg. Not far behind was Juanita Badenhorst, with a 2.12kg carp.
