Dean Naicker takes home Monthly Mug

An outstanding round of golf at Umkomaas Golf Club by Dean Naicker saw him take the A division on 41 points and be crowned overall Monthly Mug winner for September, with nett 65.
He was followed closely by nephew Tash Naicker who also played great golf to shoot 40 points, with next nearest Brian Kassel in third on 35 points in the A division.
The B division was won by Steve Oliver who played better than handicap to make 37 points. Second on 35 points was Nelson Moonsamy followed by Kuben Naidoo with 34 points.

Norma Mackay came second with 34 points and Rex Clark third with 33.
The ladies were separated by just one shot, with lady captain Linda Toward’s nett 74 good enough to beat Sue Boucher for the ladies Medal Glass.
No-one managed to achieve the qualifying 10 points on the four jackpot holes, but there were seven 2-clubs, three of which were made by Robbie Bruce.
Wednesday IPS winner was Wally Kent on 38 points, with Magda van der Heever on 37 points and Russell Cumming on 35 points, counting out Francois Rossouw and Robbie Matthias.
The annual Aliwal Stroll competition is coming up over the Heritage Day long weekend.
The club will host a fun foursomes competition on September 26.
Any combination, men, ladies, or mixed, are welcome to enter.
