Herald Fishing: Top catch for Sibusiso, without a ‘shad-ow’ of a doubt

The prestigious SADSAA (South African Deep Sea Angling Association) Tuna Nationals Tournament will be held at Shelly Beach Ski-boat Club from October 24 to 29.

Sibusiso Mlambo of Gcilima reeled in a large 5kg shad at Margate pier recently. The large fish saw him struggle a little more than usual to reel it in, not that he minded.

“It was a great experience having it taking my bait in less then five minutes after I dropped it. It was a solid hook up that made it more easier to land it successfully,” Sibusiso said.

Although there have been many delays and interruptions in the planning and hosting of the tournament due to Cocid-19 lockdown regulations, according to the club, the event is scheduled to go ahead and more information will be provided closer to time.
