Sheppie clinch league
During the season, Sheppie beat Umdoni B 7,5-4,5; Umdoni A 8-4; Selborne 6,5-5,5; Southbroom 6,5-5-5
Port Shepstone Country Club won the Southern KwaZulu-Natal Handicap League for 2021, despite a final round loss to Margate CC at Umdoni Park last Sunday.
During the season, Sheppie beat Umdoni B 7,5-4,5; Umdoni A 8-4; Selborne 6,5-5,5; Southbroom 6,5-5-5.
The team was captained by seasoned veteran Gerald Koch, helped by his long-hitting grandson James Coull.
Regulars for Sheppie during the season were Kirk Larsen, Gavin van Wyk, Daan Swanepoel, George Bowie, Dave Mee and Ken Morris.
Umdoni A placed third, with Margate fourth, counting out Umdoni B on match points.
Southbroom were the wooden spoonists for the season.
