South Coast mourns death of legendary golfer Doug Milne

Over the years he had played in a number of national tournaments, as well as his 650th game for the Nomads in 2018 on the Southbroom greens.

The South Coast was greeted with sad news this morning that golf legend and Margate Retirement Village resident, Doug Milne had died at the age of 91.

A Southern Natal Nomads icon and Southbroom Golf Club member, Doug added to his legendary status when he completed his 650th game for the Nomads in 2018 on the Southbroom greens.

Doug played in 48 national tournaments, winning the over 55s in 1988, he also played in two Rhodesian nationals, four Zimbabwe nationals, and one Botswana and Swaziland nationals each.

Doug will be sorely missed by the South Coast golfing community, in which he achieved milestones that inspired many to strive for greatness.
