‘Compleat’ performance from Sheppie pair at San Lameer
Five hours later, a winning pair emerged from the field, namely Port Shepstone Country Club members Alberto dos Santos and Gerald Koch.
Following a successful first leg of the 2021 Windhoek Pairs National Series in St. Francis Bay at the Jack Nicklaus-designed St. Francis Links, the team from Compleat Golfer made their way up to San Lameer Country Club for the second of four regional finals.
With a place in the national final at Pearl Valley Golf Estate up for grabs, it was all to play for as the 40 teams.
Five hours later, a winning pair emerged from the field, namely Port Shepstone Country Club members Alberto dos Santos and Gerald Koch.
They scored 44 points and pipped Maritzburg Golf Club pair, Bruce Koloane and Albert Sokhela, by a single point.
Dos Santos and Koch can look forward to the final at Pearl Valley Golf Estate on November 19.
A special thank you to Windhoek who have come to the party in a big way and made this event possible.
The competition has grown from just five participating clubs a few years ago, to now more than 120.
San Lameer CC proved to be an ideal venue for the provincial final and despite experiencing more than 500mm of rain during the winter months, the course was in fantastic condition.
Next stop is Bryanston Country Club for the Gauteng regional final this Friday.
