Great form lands Jeremy in the winner’s circle

He brought the same great form last Saturday when he teamed up with Alwyn Stander to take top honours on +7 in the Bonus Bogey competition.

It was a great week for Jeremy Boyd as he racked up consecutive wins at Umkomaas Golf Club. His 36 points was enough to secure victory in last Wednesday’s IPS competition.

He brought the same great form last Saturday when he teamed up with Alwyn Stander to take top honours on +7 in the Bonus Bogey competition. Methinks the handicapper is going to be doing some chopping…

It seems the good form continued with four teams scoring +6 and being thrust into a series of count-outs to determine the order of prizes, as follows:

Second – Harold Horsley and Robbie Bruce.

Third – Keith and Lesa Vergottini.

Fourth – Dave Robertson and Dave Shepherd.

Fifth – Bing Opie and Allan Eriksen.

It was wonderful to have Willie Boucher back in the field (and the prizes!) after an absence due to illness, and congratulations to Linda Redfern on playing in her first competition.

Jeremy’s 36 points topped the list, followed by Lesa Vergottini on 35 points, and the remaining places determined by count-out on 33 points: Barrie Taylor, Willie Boucher and Bing Opie.

Best wishes to Sabiha Hulley and Max van der Heever who are competing in the WGSA’s South African Mid Am and Seniors Open being played at Highland Gate in Dullstroom. We look forward to following their progress.
