Deja-vu as Reimer and Mills steal the show again

Year end is fast approaching and we’ll have a host of family members and visitors from up country on our doorstep in a couple of weeks.
It was a case of deja-vu on Wednesday as Kevin Reimer and John Mills again stole the show at Scottburgh Country Club, this time with 43 points played in benign conditions.
Coming close but losing the count out were the predictable Denis Brown and Tony Power who beat third place Alan Eriksen and Derek Cowden into third with 38 points.
Kevin also had the only 2 club and we welcomed back Roly Tickle who has been overseas for a while to come up to the table and re-new his acquaintance with the Stone in the company of Geoff Thommasen.
There was a good turnout for Friday’s Fairway Friday five pin with T Moodley winning with 10 points and Ian Baird second with nine.
For only R30, it’s a treat not to be missed and it’s also a BOGOF, buy one get one free for local beers after the game.
After Thursday’s whirl windy conditions we played once again in suitable weather on Saturday. Dave Meredith and his Virtual I.T were the sponsors and our thanks go to Dave.
Leading the prize winners were Doc Mahabeer and Barry Kisten with 44 points followed closely by Denis Brown (again) this time with Wayne Simpson.
The husband and wife team of Gary and Mandy Jones didn’t go away empty-handed, but a bit lighter in the wallet as they collected the Stone.
On Sunday, the Scottburgh Athletic Club will be hosting a betterball Stableford to raise club funds with plenty of prizes. It’s R200 per player starting at 07:00.
Flyer’s footnote: Don’t be tempted to invest in each new sample of golfing equipment that comes on the market. Not only will you complicate matters and spoil your game, but also fill your garage with more useless rubbish.
