Winning the Tiago’s men’s trips at Southbroom last Tuesday were Allan Tyres, Ken Hills and Doug Kent, ahead of runners-up Vernon Clements, Glenn Hatfield and Brent Addison. The first session went to Gary Hess, Mervyn Barrett and Carl Volker and the second session was won by John Keppler, Steve Rennie and Andreas van der Linde.
Two days later, the JL Panelbeaters men’s fours were held and won by John Keppler, Steve Rennie, Tony Going and Andreas van der Linde. Runners-up, and with one round to go, were league leaders Brian Douthwaite, Alan Gibson, Hans van der Walt and Trevor Heywood.
PORT EDWARD
The winner of the Cowshed and Sentra Splash 2 bowls trips last Thursday were Chris Green, Jokkie van Buuren and Elbe Snyman from Leigh Warner, Arthur Ronaldson and Leoni Booth. Session prize was won by John Keppler, Steve Rennie and Andreas van der Linde.

In the Wimpy Oribi ladies pairs bowls competition played at the club last Thursday, Jill von Brandis and Elsa Lourens were the day’s winners. Tammy Gibbons and Rienie Blignaut secured a second place finish while the session prize went to Yvonne James and Rentia Williamson.
In the 3rd AVENUE mixed fours bowls competition played on Monday this week, Robbie Duyts, Hedy Mormom, Rosemarie Ludwig and Amanda Taylor were the day’s winners, followed by runners-up Peter Clark, Barry Krause, Desiree Krause and Gerda Clark.
The session prize went to Alex Bukes, Brian Perri, Silvia Pretorius and Tilly Kirkland.
MARGATE
In last Friday’s Crayfish Inn women’s 2 bowl trips, Kobie Stander, Dora Vosloo and Winnie Hess finished in first place, ahead of second placed Lyn Walton, Hazel De Laney and Anne Wells.
The session prize went to Nelia Reed, Julie Moorley and Maureen Roach.
HIBBERDENE
The drawn mix trips competition sponsored by Warwick was won by Roger Burwood, Pauline Howle and Pieter Rossouw last Wednesday.
In second place were Hennie van Jaarsveld, Estelle Quinn and Dirk de Villiers, while third place was secured by Deon Gerber, Johan Heath and Elize Duvenage. Richard Dunn, Frances Raymond and Tillie Kirkland placed fourth with Brian Pirrie, Martin and Sylvia Pretorius rounding off the top 5.
The drawn mix trips sponsored by Mzimayi Lodge saw the trio of Deon Gerber, Johan Labuschagne and Tillie Kirkland claim first prize last Friday.
Jan Oosthuizen, Louis Gerber and Joey Venter finished in second place, with the session prize going to Eddie Milne, Rienie Blignaut and Ian Gordon.
The next competition will only be this Friday (26th) and is set to be a drawn trips competition sponsored by Remax. Play starts at 14:00.
