THE BELL
The 3rd Avenue open trips took place recently and was won by Peter and Gerda Clark with Desiree Krause. Second place went to Sharolyn Dacey, Charmaine Vermeulen and Winnie Hess, while Robbie Duyts, Maureen Muller and Rentia Williamson finished in third place.
The club congratulates Hew Hodgeson and Mada Lindeque for coming joint third in the KBA mixed pairs played last weekend.
Good bowling to all our members taking part in the KBA men’s and ladies pairs this weekend.
HIBBERDENE
The club hosted the drawn trips competition sponsored by Hibberdene Spar last Wednesday, and was won by Bets de Villiers, Bob Hayward and Andrew Maree. In second place were Adam Grobler, Cheryl Knight and Silvia Pretorius, while Eddie Milne, Judy Aiston and Elize Duvenhage finished in third place.
In the nominated trips competition sponsored by Hibberdene Pharmacy held last Friday, Alex Bukes, Tillie Kirkland and Johan Labuschagne were crowned winners ahead of second placed Albert Munnik, Jenny Isemonger and Nora Swart.
Richard Dunn, Alida Munnik and Gill Rule finished third. The next competition will be this Friday (18th) and is set to be a drawn trips competition sponsored by Dr Govender from Hibberdene.
MARGATE
Last Friday’s Hibiscus Brokers open trips was held at the club and won by Cassidy Martin along with Maureen and Wayne Muller, ahead of the second placed trio of Gerry Davey, Martiens Olivier and Rob Jackson.
Bill Eccles, Manny Rodrigues and Louis Heystek won the session prize while Bill Eccles was crowned the 50/50 winner.
The next event will be the Cray Fish Inn Women’s 2 Bowl Trips at the club this Friday (18th) at 08:30. Floodlight bowls takes place later the same day at 18:00 and will cost R20 per person.
The KBA men’s and women’s league will take place this Saturday (19th).
THE VILLAGE
Winning the Hibiscus Brokers open trips were Heather Roberts, Julie Walker and Bridgette Cary-Smith, ahead of runners-up Rodney, Michele and Alan.
The first session prize went to Lenie, Voulene and Trevor, while Alan Tyers, Clive Dignell and Julie Moorley won the second session prize.
