Off season visitors sign up as members at golf club
P&G Construction were the sponsors of last Saturday's betterball Stableford.
Now that the main holiday season has receded, we now see a few ‘off season’ visitors to our neck of the woods seeing the GP and FS number plates in the car park at Scottburgh Golf Club.
Welcome to Scottburgh!
Amongst the visitors we also managed to get a few more members as well.
Amongst the latter Org Villiers stole the show last Wednesday as he showed us locals a thing or two by winning the Individual Stableford with 38 points, not bad for a newbie.
Wayne Simpson really got into the act as he not only came second with 36, but stroked in the only 2 club and had a share of the hidden holes with Herman Grotius and Graham Brown – a good day’s work.
The Friday five pin is becoming a weekend payday for the Gilliver family as this week dad Pete scored 10 points to win the cheque with Pat Palmer losing the count out.
Another good turnout and the entry fee of only R50 – that’s right, just fifty bucks.
P&G Construction were the sponsors of last Saturday’s betterball Stableford.
Old stagers Gary Jones and Tony Power carted off the whisky scoring 40 points between them with Mr and Mrs Morris, Pete and Alex coming second with 38 (and beating the Gillivers in the process) with compere for the evening Ian Walker and Herman Grotius third with 37.
Les Orchard is one of the off season regular visitors to Scotties and he walked away with a bottle of wine for his tee shot on 10 and rolled in the 2 club along with John Mills and Pathma Moodley.
Nobody hit the green on the 5th so our erstwhile president fined the lot of us.
New member Gerrie Hattingh is getting used to the course but unfortunately he once again picked up the Stone in the company of next week’s sponsor Morne van Eck.
This Wednesday (23rd) its an Individual Stableford and as stated our Local Choice Pharmacy will be sponsoring the monthly medal and alliance thanks to Morne.
Flyers Footnote: The trouble with golf is you’re only as good as your last putt.
