Rob on target at Oribi shoot

Deal Miles took second place and Cotter Grea placed third.

The Alfred County branch of KZN Hunting Shooting and Conservation Association held its first shoot of the year at Oribi last weekend.

This event saw a really great turnout with a total of 17 participants, who competed in a Confederation of Hunting Associations of South Africa (CHASA) sports shooting competition.

The first event was a warthog target at 35m standing, an impala target at 100m sitting position and a springbok target at 200m prone position. All participants shot very well.

The second event comprised of five steel gong targets set out at different distances from a realistic hunting position (150m, 175m, 185m and 200m).

In first position was Rob English while Deal Miles took second place and Cotter Grea placed third.

Last but not least, one cannot forget to mention David Cardinaux for his enthusiasm and entertainment on the range.

A big thank you goes to all committee members for their dedication and effort in making this day a success.

Furthermore, a big thank you to all the sponsors for their generous prizes which helped create enthusiasm amongst competitors.

The committee invites members and non-members to attend future events. If you are interested, contact Kurt Bunge on 083 2779214 or Desmond Govender on 072 1527415.
