Fly fisherman Sean nets bulk of trophies
Kevin Bailey was adjudged to be the Most Improved Angler for 2021.
The 27th annual prize-giving of the South Coast Fly Anglers was held at the home of Stephen and Olga Brand in Trafalgar recently.
Neil Scott was awarded the coveted Chris van Wyk Chairman’s Award for his services to the club during the past year.
Sean Tharratt received prizes for the Most Fish caught (194), Most Species caught (11), Most Meritorious Fish (a largemouth yellow fish of 57cm in length), merit certificates for his 55cm long barbel and rainbow trout of 51 cm in length, as well as the trophies for winning the Freshwater and Saltwater Fly Tyer of the Year competitions.
Kevin Bailey was adjudged to be the Most Improved Angler for 2021.
Stan Park took the prize for the second Most Meritorious Fish, a rainbow trout of 2.6kg.
Ian Logie and Stephen Brand received merit awards for their catches of a 2.2kg smallmouth yellow fish and rainbow trout of 54cm, respectively.
The raffle of flies tied by members during the past year was won by Kevin Bailey, Jaydon Kolmer and Liam van der Merwe, respectively.
