Louw Brits of the The Bell won the KBA men's novices singles

SOUTHBROOM
The Tiago’s men’s trips took place at the club last Tuesday and was won by Mike Lyall, Harry Devenish and Mark Kassner, ahead of runners-up Jeff Cronje, Norman Davies and Louis Heystek.

The first session went to Des Evans, Clive Cowan and Barry Mollett and the second to Chris Faber, Hein Bester and Denis Hodgson.

TWENI
The club hosted the Harbourview Spar mixed pairs bowls competition on Monday this week which was won by Hennie Greyling and Karen Delaney. The day’s runners-up were Peter von Brandis and Jill von Brandis, while the session prize went to Derick Celliers and Jenny Graham.

The Wimpy Oribi ladies pairs bowls held last Thursday was won by Anette Suther, Gerda Clark ahead of runners-up Desiree Krause and Winnie Hess. The session prize was won by Yvonne James and Mari Strauss.

HIBBERDENE
In the KBA novice singles competition, the men’s runner-up was Gary Vogt (PSCC) and joint third Clinton Knott (Bell) and Ian Hunter (SMB). The women’s runner-up was Carol Roodt (MGT) and joint third Tillie Kirkland (HIB) and Jenny Sneedon (WID).

The drawn trips competition sponsored by Just Chill Refrigeration was won by Eddie Alex Bukes, Cheryl Knight and Calie Smit last Friday.

In second place were Louis Gerber, Jimmy Hay and Maureen du Toit, while Martin Rautenbach, Johan Labuchagne and Hettie Nel finished third respectively. The next competition will take place this Friday (25th) and will be a drawn trips competition.

MARGATE
The Crayfish Inn women’s 2 bowl trips was won by Kobie Stander, Dora Vosloo and Winnie Hess ahead of runners-up Annette Symes, Maureen Roach and Rentia Williamson last Friday.

The session prize was won by Anita Pio, Fawzia Karani and Geanne Mitchell with the 50/50 prize going to Yvonne Bausek.

THE BELL
Well done to Louw Brits on winning the KBA men’s novices singles last weekend. Also well done to Clinton Knott on coming joint third.

Khaya Hlongwa and Amanda Taylor both got through to the quarter-finals.

Winners of the 2-4-2 sponsored by Food Lover’s Market are: First – Sharolyn Dacey and Steve O’Moore, second Lindi and Christo Samuel and the session winners were Frik Janse van Rensburg and Laraine Harris.
