Croc Kelly takes B division matchplay title
Stableford was won by Irene Schanda on 28 points, by one from Michelle van der Hoek.
Howard Kelly won the B division matchplay title at Southbroom Golf Club last Sunday.
The ‘Croc’ beat youngster Cameron Olivant (13) on the last hole, 1-up, knocking in a snaking 12-footer for birdie to prevent having to go to extra holes after Cameron had made a birdie of his own.
Howard was pleased with the win, especially after his disappointing Sunday score in the strokeplay, but gave credit to Cameron for his efforts in his first matchplay game.
The A division final is yet to be played – and will see Gavin Sole play Mike Anthony.
He’s probably the only player to take the Big Fish down the last hole, but not win.
The women’s competition last Wednesday was won by Solange Fox on nett 76, by five from Lesley Godley on nett 81.
Stableford was won by Irene Schanda on 28 points, by one from Michelle van der Hoek.
Neill Crossey won the men’s medal on nett 73.
Stableford winner was Malcolm Moorley on 33 points, on a countout from Bob Carmichael and Rory O’Donnell.
Norman Jeffery was in fourth place on 32 points, with Bob Clark next on 31 points.
Chicken Run: Andrew Leckie 18 pts, Alex Crawford 17 pts, Rupert Niebuhr 17 pts, Malcolm Greenland 17 pts.
Saturday’s golf was rained out.
