Medals for karateka in Durban

World renowned Japanese karate grandmaster Shuseki Shihan Murakami was a guest of honour and conducted training sessions for local karateka.

A number of local karateka took part in the Kanazawa Cup in Durban recently.

SKISA Shihan Sonny Pillay (left) and Shihan Frank Moodley (right) of Port Shepstone Shotokan Karate Club welcome Shuseki Shihan Murakami to the Kanazawa Cup 2022 held at Greyville Convention Centre recently.

Nine Port Shepstone Shotokan Karate Club members scooped medals in both kata and kumite, namely Teighlon Fynn, Dylan Peeriyalal, Kiara Rampul, Tyler Gous, Neriah Peeriyalal, Miguel Gous, Illham Amod, Mikhail Peeriyalal and Shristi Bisram.
