Warriors go top after downing Harlequins

South Coast Warriors travelled to Harlequins on the Bluff last Saturday. The firsts secured a four-try bonus point win, beating Quins 28-7 to go top of the First Division South log.

Tries were scored by Sheldon Rivabella, Lunga Madlala, Donovan Horne and Tiaan van Staden, with four conversions from Daryn Nyman.

Men of the match were Donovan Horne (backs) and Jade Nyman (forwards).

The second team won 38-15, with tries scored by Gert Pieterse, Lunga Madlala, Westley Nyman, Liam Parker-Dennison, Duan Potgieter and Michael Helmand, who kicked four conversions.

The Warriors will now finally be playing home fixtures for the next couple of weeks, starting with a match against Pietermaritzburg RC at Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground this Saturday.

Seconds kick off at 14:00, followed by the firsts at 15:30.

In junior rugby, the U7, U9 and U11 teams travelled to Amanzintoti last Sunday.

The U7s played three games and won two, while the U9s played three and won one. The U11s had a tough game against Hillcrest, losing 17-0.
