Bowlers go ‘pink’ for cancer awareness

Everyone dressed in pink to support the cause.

A fantastic afternoon to raise funds for PinkDrive was held at the Margate Retirement Village recently.

Event organiser Janice Beneke said R5 000 was raised at the annual event.

Everyone dressed in pink to support the cause. A braai and dancing followed a morning of bowls.

This is the second time the village has hosted the event, which is a popular outing on the calendar.

She thanked the residents of the village and its visitors for another successful event.

“What a wonderful, happy event! Thank you to everyone who participated and made this day such a resounding success. The money raised will go towards those who are medically uninsured,” she said.
