KG needs funds to attend national touch rugby trials

The local rugby player needs to raise R4500 for his upcoming national trials.

Local rugby player Kagitso ‘KG’ Mzola has been shortlisted for the national team to trial for the U20 SA World Cup Touch Rugby team.

With this being nationals, he will have to trial in Cape Town and Johannesburg as well as Durban, to be chosen for the team going to the World Cup in the United Kingdom next year.

As touch rugby is a self-funded sport, KG needs to raise all his own funds to cover flights, accommodation, transport and food at every camp in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Money has been raised to cover accommodation.

Funding is still needed for airfare (R3500), food (R500) and Uber fees (R500).

People can also donate money through fundraising raffle sheets available at The Doghouse and Live Love Laugh in Pennington. Tickets are R50 and entrants stand a chance to win a weekend away for two at 305 Guest House in Amanzimtoti.

For more details contact KG’s mother Belinda Paulsen on 069 1207834.

Should any information need to be verified about the trials, contact Claire Maujean of the KZN Touch Association at clairekzntouch@gmail.com or 082 8208494.
