Vice-captain edges captain at Southbroom

There was plenty good-natured banter on the day.

It was time for the Captain vs Vice-Captain game at Southbroom Golf Club last Saturday.
Vice-captain Don Osbourn rallied his troops to beat Gary Purtell’s team 8-3.
Nic Dreyer and Neill Crossey (vice-captain team) had the best score of the day, 42 points.
Russel Mackenzie and André Ollewagen had the second best score of the day, 41 points, but unfortunately came up against Nic and Neill.

Peter Volck and Malcolm Moorley (vice-captain) also had 41 points, as did Andy Bossard and Digby Jennings (captain) so they both won their respective games.
Chicken Run: Danie Schutte 20 points, Harry Devenish 20 points, Malcolm Greenland 20 points.

The ladies’ alliance last Wednesday was won by Sharon Turnbull-Jackson, Heleen Hissey and Jeanne Powell on 84 points.

Derek James won the medal on nett 70, while Chris Ledden won the Stableford on 37 points.
There was a three-way tie in second place on 36 points, shared by Ken Crawford, Derek Oelefse and Geoff Skelton.
The ladies played for the President’s Trophy last Saturday, won by Janet Lehmann and Gwyn Wright on 41 points.

They counted out Louise Leal and Heleen Hissey. In third place on 39 points were Michelle van der Hoek and Eli Bachmann.
